Taschen has just released The Big Book of Breasts 3D and The Big Penis Book 3D, books they previously published in non-3D. These books come with a pair of 3D viewing glasses. “I’m a big fan of 3D,” editor Dian Hanson says “and when I found out that you could convert ordinary photos, I have to say I was thrilled with that…Unlike other 3D pictures you may have seen, the photos do not look distorted when viewed without the glasses but when you put on your glasses the parts of interest leap from the page, not in flat layers as in old-style 3D, but as thick, fully rounded, touchable contours.” Hanson adds “The Big Penis Book 3D is outselling The Big Book of Breasts 3D. But they go back and forth on the bestseller list.” Dian is next publishing The Big Book of Pussy 3D from vintage Penthouse shoots when Bob Guccione stuck his nose in to every shot.
Dian Hanson worked on titles as diverse as Puritan, Oui, Outlaw Biker, Adult Cinema Review, Expose, Juggs, Big Butt, and Leg Show. She has been Taschen’s “sexy book editor” since 2001. Her other books include The History of Men’s Magazines, The History of Girly Magazines, The Big Butt Book, Vanessa del Rio: 50 Years of Slightly Slutty Behavior, and The New Erotic Photography (with Eric Kroll.) Dian talks about the book 3D grand release party where debauchery, naked female genitalia (Kelly Madison’s cootchy) and a late night celebration with the real live descendant of Baron Von Frankenstein was held at Taschen Book Store in Beverly Hills. Dian Hanson’s intelligence and worldly understanding of “how to be happy” came through immediately with advice, philosophy, and a balance view of how to follow one’s dream to log in more happy days than sad. This is a busy busy lady.
