As reported earlier Lindsay Lohan is set to play pornstar Linda Lovelace in the upcoming biopic Inferno. Promotional posters for the movie are now making their rounds.
Photographer Tyler Shields took the shoot to a seedy motel to get the mood ‘just right’ and we have to say, they look pretty damn good. All joking aside about seedy motels and Lindsay Lohan (it’s too easy) we’re kind of rooting for Lohan here. This could be the movie that launches her career. If she can’t capture the underbelly of a sometimes dark and twisted industry or that of a conflicted star who has made one too many bad decisions, then we doubt she ever will.
We’re guessing Inferno will not be a sexy Lindsay Lohan movie. After Deep Throat, Lovelace claimed to have been forced into pornography and prostitution by her abusive pimp of a husband. She had intense drug problems that stopped her from making it in mainstream movies. She became a very vocal anti-porn feminist after finding God and even testified for the Attorney General’s Commission on Pornography:
“When you see the movie Deep Throat, you are watching me being raped. It is a crime that movie is still showing; there was a gun to my head the entire time.”
Lovelace wrote four books, the first two being pro-porn memoirs and her last two anti-porn. She also blamed the anti-porn crusaders for exploiting her.
Common theme: It’s everyone else’s fault. Come on Lohan, you have this one in the bag.
