Mimi Miyagi has been in the adult business for nearly 20 years now and has appeared in well over 100 titles spanning from 1991 to her retirement in 2004. Her films have certainly produced a dedicated legion of fans but her private life and charity work has also made her beloved by thousands she has helped. Mimi Miyagi was born in Davao City, Philippines. She moved to California with her parents at age 6. Mimi went on to earn a scholarship to the American College for Fashion Merchandising. However Mimi soon found herself out of money and unable to attend. She answered an ad in a newspaper (What’s a Newspaper?) and the guy on the other end just happened to be renowned director Ed Powers. Good ‘ole Ed offered Mimi some adult film work. Mimi thought it over and took the plunge. She had just turned 18 at the time.
Mimi talks about her first scene in the industry, the early days of porn with the likes of Peter North, Ron Jeremy, Tom Byron and others. She tells MB what celeb she most wants to hump and she dishes the dirt on her personal life. Hint, hint guys she is single and wouldn’t mind a nice stiff one now and again. Mimi’s life after the adult industry has been filled with admirable and highly aspirational work. She ran for Governor of Nevada in 2006 as a Republican, incidentally she has since turned Libertarian (Which does not involve giving up meat by the way). She didn’t win the election but she most certainly showed folks that she was a serious person with real intelligence and compassion. Her charity relief work in the Philippines has helped create new learning facilities and has fed thousands. For her efforts in the region Mimi has earned the respect and love of thousands in need. in 2011 the Philippines was hit with Typhoon Sendong/Washi and the results were catastrophic. Mimi’s tireless work has gotten the attention of government officials and the mainstream press alike.
Normally our “Then and Now’ interviews attempt to be a historical and comprehensive account of the life of the guest. However Mimi’s passion for helping others just sort of takes over. This is the kind of person she is. Not only can she suck the chrome off a trailer hitch, makes the world’s toes curl with ecstasy, but she feeds the stomachs, minds and hearts of whomever she meets.
