The San Diego Comic-Con has long been the grande dame of all geek gatherings, the mother of all misanthrope meet-ups, the nexus of all nerd know-how. But now that it’s cool to be a nerd, Hollywood has jumped on the bandwagon, using the huge annual convention to test its more geek-friendly fantasy, sci-fi and action material before an audience that is simultaneously slavishly devoted and hyper-critical (it might seem like an oxymoron, but trust us, it’s not).
While some portly men in glasses will be regaling rapt fanboys about the process of inking Superman’s codpiece, this year’s San Diego Comic-Con also contains quite a few chances to meet-and-greet with sexy female stars. Sarah Michelle Gellar will be on hand from 1:45-2:45 Thursday, July 21 to preview and discuss her new CW series Ringer, about a wealthy socialite who trades lives with her identical twin sister.
Emilia Clarke, who had some fantastic nude scenes on HBO’s Game of Thrones this season, will appear in person from 3:00-4:00 Thursday the 21 to discuss what’s next for the epic fantasy series.
