Before the internet and Pornhub, my primary means of seeing female genitalia were National Geographic and TLC. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Occasionally they would have a special series about sex, reproduction, or some far away culture where women often walk around naked. Fast forward a few decades later and educational nudity is so far down my list of arousing things that I’m probably more likely to masturbate to elderly women doing yoga on Lifetime.
Looking to reclaim some of its former glory, TLC has a new regular series called Strange Sex. The show focuses on the lifestyles and experiences of men and women in order to show people that they are not alone in whatever odd sexual behaviors they practice behind closed doors.
A recent episode featured a man goes gaga over his wife’s breast milk and discusses how he regularly nurses from her teat while fully aroused. Another segment included an older couple, who after 40 years of a healthy sex life, were having a vaginal rejuvenation procedure as well as a hymenoplasty so they could pop that cherry one more time on their anniversary. Awwwwwww. The show is all about sharing different lifestyles without sensationalizing the sexual content. Being a cable television show, there’s mostly a lot of talking however it’s still an amazing show to watch if sex interests you.
Regarding the reasons why people choose to appear on the show despite the fact that their lifestyles may be considered deviant by most, TLC executive Alon Orstein said:
“A lot of the people who end up on the show are folks leaning forward for different reasons. It may be that they want the opportunity to share an aspect of their lifestyle that to them is celebratory or is something they want to share with a TV audience and speak to and be a voice for. Others we profile might suffer from a condition that they are keen to shine light on and make people aware of.”
So there you have it! Most of our dear readers are pretty open sexually but it’s still pretty cool to watch people talk about the different things they do that I would have never even considered to be arousing. I thought I was cool cause I liked butt stuff but some of these people make me look like a god damn puritan settler having sex through a hole in a sheet.
