Braunlage, Germany, is a small town known mainly as a skiing resort, now it’s becoming famous for another, better, sport: naked competitive snow sledding. Their annual nude sledding championship has only been running for a few years and 2011 contest just wrapped up a week back.  We did a post on the 2010 round, but this year was the most successful yet – 400 men and women applied to compete, but only 30 were accepted, and 17,000 people turned up to watch.

The athletes wear nothing but briefs and a crash helmet, and race downhill in the freezing cold on a 300 foot icy track for a cash prize of $1400.00.  Check out some footage here:
