Sex is power. For many it’s the only power they can wield. And when I say they, I mean women. I feel like I’m betraying my gender by saying all this, but it’s true. The truth might be a little vulgar, but it doesn’t make it any less true.
In a world where women are still fighting for equal rights and opportunities the one thing the ladies can always count on, if they have the way and the will, is sex. Sex, flirting; the promise of nice, soft, warm, wet flesh. Oh yeah, baby, it can get you want you want. Money, good grades, promotions, fame, whatever.
Really crafty folk can even use sex to blackmail high ranking officials and get a hold of some pretty nifty secrets. Sex and secrets the two things you can always count on to get ahead in this world.
It’s no surprise then, that the Turkish army, or rather a faction of the Turkish army took it upon themselves to round up a ring of prostitutes to blackmail some very important people out of some equally important military secrets.
It’s such a simple plan, I’m surprised a million movies following the same plot haven’t been made. As it turns out, it’s not that hard to make an officer reveal military secrets when you know what buttons to push. Military personnel might undergo training that teaches them how to endure torture and other various interrogation tactics, but apparently the Turkish military doesn’t offer training on how to resist a hooker who’s after more than your cash.
Too bad, a little 101 sex ed might have saved these folks a whole lot of trouble, but where there’s a mark there’s a way and where there’s a way there’s someone to take advantage of it, which brings me to the business at hand. Charges have been brought against a group of Turkish military officers who were allegedly running a sex for secrets ring.
It’s a story as old as time, a prostitute “accidentally” runs into the targeted officer’s car, seduces him, films him in the act, and blackmails him. Her silence in exchange for military secrets. And there yo have it.
They might have pulled it off too, if it wasn’t for some anonymous tipster, but thanks to a anonymous email at least 80 people, 60 of them serving officers, have been arrested in connection with the “escort girls” case. Arrest warrants for fifty more officers were issued this month after the after the shooting down of a Turkish fighter jet by Syria. Nineteen prostitutes have also been charged. A formal indictment is still pending.
What did I tell ya, wouldn’t this make a great movie?!
