It’s hard for me to give a shit about politics. I have enough money to not care about social programs, but not enough to cry over taxes and corporate agendas. Every political candidate says the same exact thing, and at the end of the day if I keep working hard and avoiding criminal chargers my life keeps floating on unimpeded. It would take an absolute miracle for me to care about a local mayoral election.
A miracle such as having two porn stars running against each other, who then use pole dancing competitions to win over the support of voters.
This is exactly what is happening in the southern coastal town of Taranto, Italy where Italian porn stars Amandha Fox and Luana Borgia are running against each other for the office of mayor. These two women are both well-known dancers who have performed in a plethora of hardcore porn flicks. They are organizing a pole dancing competition so local voters can talk directly to the candidates about political issues while trying to hide visible erections. Not wanting to gain an unfair advantage for their sexy debate, they are encouraging any other candidates to come join the event.
This isn’t the first time porn and politics have crossed path in the great nation of Italy. According to the article, an ex-porn star by the name of Cicciolina became mayor of the town of Monza. The 59-year-old retiree has legitimate political ambitions and is genuinely passionate about serving the citizens of her town. She is quoted as saying:
“We want to set up an optimistic party of the future. Enough with these parties of profiteers, vote-selling, tenders and corruption. […] We’re thinking of a party of honest people: against the military and in favor of the rights of the weak. I would go among the people to listen to their problems.”
These are the kinds of people and ideals I can get behind! Whether Fox and Borgia are this passionate about politics is yet to be seen. I might have to grab my passport and attend their debate to determine if these women strike favor with my voting pole.
