I’m kind of obsessed with Cardi B. It isn’t her music or anything, my obsessions involves me legit trolling around all her social networking feeds because I’m interested in who she is as a person. I think she’s beautiful and so do millions of other people around the globe.

She is very outspoken about the fact that she was a stripper and I think that maybe one of the reasons why I’ll give her all the search engine hits. She’s got sex appeal, rhythm and plenty of spunk, so before Love & Hip Hop: New York shot her name into the stratosphere, she was working at clubs in the Bronx.

She’s a hustler forever and she’ll never ever let you forget it.

I love that she always brings up the fact that she used to strip forcing people to take a good hard look at the profession and realize that strippers deserve just as much respect as everyone else does. If I could add my own little spin onto that statement, ALL sex workers deserve everyone’s respect.

Cardi is on the cover of fucking Cosmopolitan this month. She is asked in the interview about working the pole and she says:

“People say, ‘Why do you always got to say that you used to be a stripper? We get it.’ Because y’all don’t respect me because of it, and y’all going to respect these strippers from now on … Just because somebody was a stripper don’t mean they don’t have no brain.”

You know what’s crazy to me? How we label people by the things that they used to be, the things that they do and the things that they enjoy participating in. So many articles about her life read, “Former stripper Cardi B,” blah blah blah. I think part of her whole point is that her job, regardless of what it happens to be, doesn’t define who she is. You can have a million different hobbies, interests and jobs all at the same time and none of them have to define you.

She’s fucking Cardi B and that’s all you need to know about her. Whatever moves she makes in her career and in her personal life, she is making them because she fucking wants to.

Cardi’s debut album is being released on April 6th…I’m going to end up checking it out because I just can’t get enough.

Here’s her clip for the song Lick, released in 2017.
