Jesus God, when I first saw this photoshoot I was looking at thumbnails, so I actually thought there were two women in the pictures, you know, instead of one woman and a mannequin. I was going to comment on how the second chick seemed creepily devoid of any distinguishing characteristics. That’s when I looked closer and realized she’s not real. *Cue creepy music*

Nope, it’s not two women. It’s one woman by the name of Alina Puscau and a mannequin who looks vaguely like her in a Playboy shoot going all the way back to 2009.

Alina is a Romanian model, actress, and singer whose career went into overdrive when she was crowned winner of the 1998 Elite Model Look. She made a name for herself modeling for Victoria’s Secret, GAP, JC Penney, and Playboy, obviously.

You might remember her from When You Leave, a song that should have gone platinum or whatever it is songs do these days when they’re popular, but never quite made it.

Clearly, this was gold in 2008 and it’s gold in 2018 2017 (I definitely know what year it is).

I don’t know what she’s up to these days, probs still modelling, but she does have an Instagram account with 12k followers and a bio that links to the above video. Why? I don’t know. Maybe she’s still trying to make it as a singer based on that one hit wonder from a decade ago.

Stranger things have happened.

I seem to remember numa numa being a thing a few years ago.

I will admit when I first looked at the header pic I was so distracted by Alina that I didn’t realize it was a mannequin behind her.

    • I don’t understand it would ever be a thing.

If that was part of an album, I don’t have high hopes for it, but I am a little curious. That song was very popular for a while, but I thought it was popular when some other group put it out or did their version of it. O-Zone..I think.. And that was mostly because some wierdo dancing to in on Youtube made it go viral. The problem I have with this version of the song is that her voice is electronically enhanced/altered through the whole who knows if she can actually sing? Thats why I am kind of curious to hear the rest of the see if she can actually sing..or if there is a reason why this song was a one hit wonder..

        • Let me know if you listen to the rest of the album. I’m also curious, just not curious enough to track it down myself.

  • This is like a creepy Tales From the Crypt thing where Alina makes a deal with an evil spirit that’s trapped in a creepy mannequin for fame and then she gets a one hit wonder but then the creepy spirit comes to collect and traps Alina’s spirit in the mannequin and takes Alina’s body and is now free to walk the Earth once more!!!

Or it’s like Mnnequin 2: On The Move and they are in love take your pick.

    • The first one, the first one for sure.
