This week’s throw back Thursday brings us to the year 1976 when bushes were full and tan lines were hot, hot, hot! Melanie Griffith was a 19 year-old aspiring actress and she was dating mega hottie and mega star Don Johnson. They’re love affair is a strange one. A 22 year-old Don met 14 year-old Melanie on the set of The Harrad Experiment where Don was headlining with Melanie’s mom, Tippi Hedren (The Birds).

It was love at first sight, or something like that, and by the time Melanie Griffith was 15 the two had moved in together. Three years later, when Griffith turned 18, the love birds got engaged. A year later, they were married and posing for Playboy mag. Somewhere along the line, love was lost and the couple got divorced nineteen months after they tied the knot.

It’s a sad creepy twisted love affair that couldn’t be sustained once their affair was actually legal, but fret not, because there love was real and immortalized in the pages of Playboy. Riiiight, they also reconciled a couple times in the ’80s and had a kid, Dakota Johnson (star of Fifty Shades of Grey), so I guess that also counts as immortalizing their love. I prefer the nude pics, though. Kids are the worst.

Unless, you know, they turn into teen brides. Kidding, the only teen bride I approve of is Courtney Stodden.

  • That scene in Something Wild where she rips her shirt off is etched into my brain and gave me a big fetish for girls ripping their shirts off.

      • I went to talk to my mom one evening when I was just a little guy and that scene came on the tv and she freaked out and made me leave the room. That scene and The Color of Night are the reason I’m a deviant.

        • The Color of Night, that’s a good one. Wild Orchid is why I’m a deviant. Watched that one with my friend and both her parents during a sleep over. I was in grade 5 at the time. Awkward.

          • I watched Color of Night with the family. I was pretending to be asleep though.

Great pictorial. I’m glad bush is making a comeback now. Why doesn’t Playboy do the soft lighting stuff anymore? HD is so harsh on some of the women. Yikes.

Outstanding TBT! I always liked her though she never seemed to be one of the classic bombshells of the 80’s/90’s. She really didn’t get enough respect.

She’s always been gorgeous (it clearly runs in the family). Bnd I’m gonna sound crazy here, but there’s something almost sweet-natured about these pics. At least the ones of them together. Maybe it’s the soft focus, maybe it’s the lighting, or maybe the photographer’s just that good, but at least the illusion of love is there. It’s really kinda remarkable in a pervy way.
